Admissions Requirements

Admission to the Patriot Academy requires a combination of physical, academic, and moral components.
Applicants to the Patriot Academy must already be interested in serving in the United States Army National Guard. Applicants incur a statutory military service obligation and must satisfactorily serve in a unit.
Successful applicants to the National Guard Patriot Academy must score at least 31 on the Armed Forces Qualification Test, pass a military physical and civil/criminal moral screening. No moral waivers will be authorized. Applicants to the academy must be between the ages of 17 and 20, be out of high school for at least six months, have 10 or less credits required to complete their high school degree requirements and must not have any dependents.
The Patriot Academy does not accept applicants who are still in high school or who actively quit high school with intent of attending the Patriot Academy. The Patriot Academy believes that current high school students are best served in their communities, surrounded by their teachers, peers and mentors. We encourage students to stay in school.
